Yoshihiro Akiyama ryktas att han har blivit utbytt emot Michael Bisping.

    Info ifrån MMAFrenzy

Wanderlei Silva, who had been expected to meet Yoshihiro Akiyama in the main event of UFC 110 on February 21 in Sydney, Australia, is now likely to make his middleweight debut against Michael Bisping in the UFC 110 headliner, as Fighters Only reports that the pair have verbally agreed to the bout.

The matchup between Silva and Akiyama was first reported in October, but was put in doubt last week when UFC President Dana White revealed that the promotion was “moving things around” following a rash of injuries suffered by many of their top fighters.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira may return to the Octagon against fellow heavyweight contender Cain Velasquez in the UFC 110 co-main event, though welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre’s upcoming title defense against Dan Hardy, which White recently mentioned as a possibility for the event, is now expected to take place on a different card.

Silva (32-10-1), the former PRIDE 205-pound champion, followed up a May 2008 knockout of Keith Jardine with back-to-back losses to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Rich Franklin, but heads to middleweight for a fresh start after dropping five of his last six fights.

Bisping (18-2), the winner of The Ultimate Fighter 3, dropped down to middleweight in 2008 and won three-straight before suffering a knockout loss to Dan Henderson in July. The bounced back earlier this month with a second-round TKO of Denis Kang at UFC 105 in his native Manchester, England.

UFC 110 is also rumored to include Dong Hyun Kim vs. Chris Lytle, Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic vs. Ben Rothwell, and Stephan Bonnar vs. Krzysztof Soszynski, while a middleweight matchup between Nate Marquardt and Chael Sonnen has been shifted to UFC 109.

    Re: UFC 110

A highly anticipated heavyweight matchup between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (32-5-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and Cain Velasquez (7-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) may take place Down Under.

Despite reports circulating today that Nogueira and Velasquez will meet at UFC 109 in Las Vegas, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned from sources close to the organization that the UFC is actually leaning toward booking the fight for UFC 110 in Australia.

Verbal agreements are in place for the contest, though bout agreements have not yet been finalized.

Nogueira and Velasquez were expected to meet in the main event of UFC 108 on Jan. 2, but a severe case of staph infection forced "Minotauro" out of the bout.

Nogueira has since undergone treatment for the infection and recently told MMAWeekly.com that he would be ready to fight in February – and that he would love to fight in Australia.

"In February, I think I’ll be in shape," Nogueira said. "I'd love to fight in Australia. If they put me on the card, I would love to fight there."

Prior to the cancellation of the Jan. 2 bout, UFC president Dana White announced that the winner of the contest would receive a heavyweight title shot.

"Nogueira vs. Velasquez is a great matchup between the present and the future of the heavyweight division," White stated. "Nogueira showed in the (Randy) Couture fight that he still has plenty left to offer at the top level of the game, and Velasquez was devastating in his win over Ben Rothwell, so with both guys in top form, we're definitely going to see a No. 1 contender emerge from this fight to take on the winner of the Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin title fight."

Nogueira briefly held the UFC's interim heavyweight title, which he earned by defeating Tim Sylvia in February 2008. Nogueira's lone loss in the UFC came in his next bout, a TKO defeat to Frank Mir in December 2008. The former PRIDE champion bounced back with a win over Couture in the main event of UFC 102 in August.

Meanwhile, Velasquez has long been touted as one of the heavyweight division's most-promising prospects. The American Kickboxing Academy product has earned five-straight UFC wins since debuting in April 2008.

Dong Hyun Kim withdraws from UFC 110; Chris Lytle currently without opponent
by MMAjunkie.com Staff on Dec 12, 2009 at 5:00 am ET
Undefeated Korean welterweight Dong Hyun Kim (12-0-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) has been forced to withdraw from a planned UFC 110 bout with Chris Lytle (27-17-5 MMA, 6-9 UFC).

Kim's apparent knee injury was first reported by AOL FanHouse, and MMAjunkie.com (http://www.mmajunkie.com) has since verified the report.

UFC 110, which is already a sell-out, takes place Sunday, Feb. 21 at Acer Arena in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. With the time difference, the show will air on pay-per-view in the U.S. live on Saturday, Feb. 20.

A replacement for Kim wasn't immediately known, but Lytle is expected to remain on the card.

Kim had sought his fourth-straight UFC win, thought the road to his first three victories hasn't necessarily been a smooth one. "Stun Gun" narrowly edged Matt Brown in a September 2008 split decision, and Kim also had a loss to Karo Parisyan overturned to a no-contest when "The Heat" failed a post-fight drug screen.

Kim also holds UFC wins over T.J. Grant and Jason Tan. Six of Kim's 12 career victories have come by knockout or TKO.

Meanwhile, Lytle will hope for another scrappy opponent as he looks involve himself in another potential "Fight of the Night." Already a four-time winner of the award, Lytle's subpar career record in the UFC is offset by his scrappy style and willingness to stand and trade with any fighter in the UFC's welterweight division.

Lytle has won three-straight "Fight of the Night" awards with wins over Kevin Burns and Paul Taylor sandwiched around a split-decision loss to Marcus Davis.
